Fifteen years ago, Ecobuns began in the original owner’s living room—just a few cloth diapers, a dream, and a hope to support local families.
In 2013, Vicki and I became the new stewards of that dream. Raina joined us in 2015, and over the years, we’ve grown from a tiny shop into a space that has held newborn snuggles, toddler dance parties, quiet conversations, big decisions, and generations of toy testers.
We’ve had the joy of watching your babies take their first steps, graduate kindergarten, middle school, and even high school. Some of the very first “Ecobuns babies” now have their driver’s licenses—and a few are heading off to college. And yes, we’re already dreaming of the day when we get to welcome second-generation Ecobuns babies.
If you've ever stopped in to say hi, asked for gift help, attended one of our events, or let your little one play at the demo table while you sipped your coffee—we hope you felt the love that built this place.
And now, we’re writing our next chapter.
Later this summer, Ecobuns will be moving back to our roots: online only.
This decision was not made lightly. Like we shared back in October, it’s been a tough season for many small businesses—and for us, too. Tariffs on imported goods have added another layer of challenge, and we’re now getting weekly emails from our vendors about products that may not be available this fall. As much as we love our brick-and-mortar space, re-signing our lease didn’t feel like the most fiscally responsible choice for staying sustainable through what’s ahead.
But back in October, you reminded us just how much this store means. You showed up for us in ways we’ll never forget—shopping, sharing, sending kind words, and checking in. That support gave us the strength to keep going, and we want you to know: we’re not going anywhere. We’ll still be here—just virtually here.
This season has also been one of reflection. And we truly believe this shift opens the door to something new and full of possibility.
We’ll be doing more live videos on social media, so you can still get the toy tips, gift ideas, and play inspiration you love—just from home. We're also partnering with a few local businesses to offer convenient pickup locations for online orders, and local delivery—with gift wrapping—will once again be available for those last-minute birthday parties and baby showers.
And yes—Moms Night Out will still be happening… just around town instead of inside our four walls.
We know this news might stir up a lot of feelings—it has for us, too. Ecobuns has never been just a store. It’s been a safe space. A meeting place. A support system. And while we may be saying goodbye to the physical space, you’re not losing us. We have big plans to stay connected and to help this beautiful community stay connected with one another.
The store is changing—but our story together isn’t over.
